Southern girl? February 2, 2007

Oh my goodness, the snow is so beautiful and peaceful. I love the weather here in the DC area! It’s nothing like the weather around the Great Lakes states where snow equates to blizzards and mangled roads. Parts of Wisconsin and Northern Michigan are so absolutely gorgeous but it doesn’t justify enough reason for a southern gal like me to live there . . . brrrrrr frigid! I’ve never been to the New England states, but I would imagine their weather sucks there, too.
Before I moved from my hometown (the hellhole where with the aroma of carcinogens, the constant 101% humidity, and the pedophiles abound), I thought Washington DC was located “somewhere way up there,” above or near New York, just like all the rest of those northern states were located. Silly me!
Did you know DC was below the Mason-Dixon line? That still makes me a southern girl! Interesting, I just researched online and discovered that only Maryland and DC were the only two southern and “solid blue states” to vote blue last presidential election . . . makes me proud!
So . . . here I am shivering because I have on the A/C. I try to keep it around 68 degrees inside our home but it’s really hard to do with the different cold and warm fronts. Soon I’ll switch back to the heater, and I’ll forget to adjust it again, and we’ll all be sweating, and I’ll have trouble breathing, and . . . and you think I would have the sense to monitor the thermostat a little better. I wish we had digital thermostat so I wouldn’t have to switch it back and forth from heater to A/C.
Oh my! It’s snowing a lot now! I’ll have to take a picture!

I hope you continue to enjoy your stay here in DC. I just moved back from Boston where things can get kinda overwhelming in the winter time.
