Posted by fmmh in : Ramblings , add a commentI’m sick of hearing and reading conversations that belittle others for being fat. People who partake in such shallow discussions lack not only empathy but also lack the facts.
I didn’t know who Tyra was until she appeared on Larry King Live, (see CNN transcript). Tyra, a former super model, weighs 160 pounds and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. That’s not overweight! I wanted to slap Larry King when I heard him ask Tyra if she had ever considered breast reduction surgery (implying she could drop a few extra pounds). It’s about time beautiful people speak up about what is healthy weight. Tyra’s beauty and courage to speak about her weight are both a role model for all women.
